Many are asking that question
Where is God?
You might be saying:
“I’m dealing with this issue or that disease, and yet where is God?” “He feels so distant from me, I don’t hear Him or see Him working in my life.”
Life’s trauma, life’s struggles aren’t meant to drag us away from God, on the contrary, they should causes us to draw nearer to God.
Let’s be honest, that’s easier said then done.
Each of us carries our own impediments:
Our pre-conceived ideas
Our traditions
Our circle of influences
Our emotions that cloud our thoughts
Our unwillingness to seek God during the tough times
I hear and see the pain experienced by many because of ones anger, mis-direction, natural disasters out of control, and a of course the current global pandemic.
Scripture tells us that we would experience troubles/struggles (John 16:33) we would be tempted to stray away from God (1 Corinthians 10:13, James 1:2), that our thoughts would get the better of us (Psalms 13:2, Isaiah 55:8).
Honestly, I too struggle to keep my head and heart above the raging waters of daily life; and this includes experiencing the struggles of navigating COVID.
And yes, I too, struggle to continually draw nearer to God.
But, it’s not how we fall away, rather, it’s how we get back up and say “God, where are You, please help me to draw nearer to You.”
Isaiah 55:6-7
Seek the Lord while He may be found;
Call upon Him while He is near.
Let the wicked forsake his way
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
And let him return to the Lord,
And He will have compassion on him,
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon
