I can’t resist sharing part of the message our pastor spoke this morning.

It focused on 1 Peter 4:1-4
So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same oattitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin. You won’t spend the rest of your lives chasing your own desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God. You have had enough in the past of the evil things that godless people enjoy—their immorality and lust, their feasting and drunkenness and wild parties, and their terrible worship of idols. (NLT)
The focus is what we should be armed with. Not speaking of weapons, but a change of attitude. I’m not asking you to keep a positive or happy attitude like nothing happen, but rather one that says something like “ok, this isn’t right, and/or sadness for the evil that has occurred.” Recognizing that yes it was evil, because it was. We need to pray for peace, for healing for those affected by the evil.
Let us not forget to pray/intercede for those who desire to do evil, to cause harm, that they will want to change their attitude, change their personal vision of what seems to be right to them, yet is wrong. It may be hard to do, but that is what we are called to do. Prayer helps you change your attitude. Takes the focus off of the evil, and places it on God.
Jesus prayed for everyone, the good, the bad, and those who do ugly things.
I challenge you to pray, to change your attitude.
