Not Yet

Psalms 22:1-2 “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why are you so far away when I groan for help? Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer. Every night you hear my voice, but I find no relief.

We can feel this way when we are looking for a new job/employment. We put in applications up the kazoo, but no one replies, no one answers our call for employment. We begin to think “why won’t they reply, are they ignoring me?”

Then there are the times we apply and we know we qualify but they won’t let us in the door–don’t invite us and yet indicate in their application what wonderful skills you have, etc but won’t bring you in for an interview.

So we begin to worry more, we feel no one wants us, and yet, we still continue in the job hunt.

As a gladiator said in the movie Gladiator to his friend and fellow slave, General Maximus Decimus Meridius, “not yet” as they were discussing when they would join their family in the “after life”.

Thankfully dying is not a prerequisite for getting a new job while remaining alive here on earth. But God does say “not yet” in His own way.
